Language – Spoken English with Story in ASL
This workshop will focus on helping interpreters develop their comprehension of ASL fingerspelling through receptive fingerspelling and numbers practice. It will allow participants to construct a plan to work on their ASL to English product by watching the video and producing an English product on their own. During the workshop participants will be able to identify weaknesses in their comprehension and use the strategies taught in order to improve those skills. In the workshop the participants will work towards comprehension of the ASL product by watching the video and practicing their receptive skills.
Educational Objectives:
Participants will be able to
1. Construct a plan for practicing comprehension of receptive fingerspelling through voicing ASL products.
2. Identify weaknesses in their comprehension of a fingerspelled product and identify strategies needed to implement in order to improve their product.
