Gary Kelley

Gary L Kelley II was born in Ohio and relocated to Florida while still in elementary school.

While in High School he learned how to be a magician and owned his own magic shop before high school graduation. He worked as a magician, sawing his sisters into thirds, in a variety of settings. He was an escape artist and fire eater with an adventurous spirit.  As such, he loves interpreting in adventurous settings.

While in high school he also began his career with Publix Supermarket, working his way up to Produce Manager.  As a manager, he eventually had a Deaf employee who began teaching him sign language.  He attended Deaf clubs and continued learning from Deaf friends.

After retirement from Publix, he began a second career as a Sign Language Interpreter.  He worked for NDA (National Deaf Academy) in Mt. Dora, FL.  He also worked as an educational interpreter and eventually landed in the world of VRS where he has been working part-time for the last 18 years.

Gary Kelley is a Nationally Certified (NIC Advanced) Interpreter with over 25 years experience in a variety of Interpreting settings including: Educational, Mental Health, Religious, VRS, Medical and Entertainment/Cruising.  He was also co-owner of Angel Interpreting Agency and the creator of TerpTracker, a software system of tracking jobs, scheduling, invoicing, etc.

He and his wife, Tawnya have overseen and developed Deaf Ministries at their local churches in Wesley Chapel and Plant City, FL for the last 17 years.  They are a blended family and the proud parents of nine beautiful children. They have toured with TerpExpo as co-presenters.
